KIVIG_GNIBEN project info:

Kivig_Gniben is an artistic collaboration between two experienced musicians and artists from Copenhagen, Denmark

Lars Kivig and Thomas Gniben, have each been around for two decades in the Copenhagen and foreign experimental underground scenes. Kivig_Gniben is their joint project where sound, art and technique merge into a higher substance. The style is dark and searching while being vibrant and changeable. Sounds that resemble something familiar but still highly alien, stimulate the senses and thoughts. Kivig_Gniben uses only modular synths and homemade acoustic instruments to create their often complex soundscapes.

Lars Kivig is among others known for his work as a composer and 22 year old member of the Copenhagen, MY BELOVED. Kivig also has a very active music life with other projects such as, Acorn Falling, where he through 3 albums, has collaborated with among others, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds drummer, Thomas Wydler. Among Kivig's other active projects are As2O3, Black Water White Sea, The Key Resonance & As2O3. Kivig is also the founder and driver of the record company, Vicious Records.

Thomas Gniben, is an experienced field recorder and has for many years worked primarily with cassette tapes and tape coils as media. His cassette collages have been in focus on Cph Dox and there has on National Danish radio P1, been a program dedicated to Gniben and his sound recordings. At the beginning of the 00s and several years ahead, Gniben performed a great deal with the floating and trance-creating project, Havblik Audio. Concerts in both abroad and inland have made Gniben a very qualitative and artistic acquaintance in the Danish experimental underground scene.
